Snake in the Grass
Edition 35 18″H X 27″W X 17″D $4,800
“The Secretary Bird is graceful in flight but prefers to spend most of its time on the plains of Africa running after prey which are mainly snakes. It is, by nature, a solitary bird but does hunt more effectively with its life mate. One may stomp or beat its wings on the ground to disorientate the victim while the other brings home the bacon. I was fortunate on one occasion in Africa to see this over-sized hawk which is quite rare and protected by law.”
Snow Monkeys
Edition 35 17″H X 9″W X 5″D $2,000
As written about “Snow Monkeys”: Macaque is the common name for any of about 13 species of Old World Monkeys that are found primarily in Asia. The Japanese Macaque, also called Snow Monkey, lives only in southern Japan. Sherry saw these monkeys on 3′ – 6′ incense burners made out of stone in the mountains of Japan several years ago and was inspired to create the sculpture, “Snow Monkeys”. The Japanese Macaque is protected by the Japanese government and symbolizes the wisdom of Budda…See no evil, Hear no evil, Speak no evil. The lantern was designed from something Sherry saw. She took liberties with the design to fit with, and be complimentary to, her composition. It does not convey a specific meaning.
Songbirds in My Garden
Edition 35 20″H X 9″W X 7″D $2,800
“Finches, Chickadees, Sparrows, Waxwings and Blackbirds are just some of the variety of birds crowding my feeders at different times of the year. They are each so wonderfully unique, it’s difficult to pick a favorite. These birds are a delight to behold and significantly influence my world. To sculpt these birds seemed a natural progression of my work.”
Spirit Strike
Edition 35 23″H X 35″W X 18″D $4,200
“My husband, Loren, and I had taken our horses into the Bob Marshall Wilderness south of Browning, Montana, scouting for elk. We came upon a tree that had been literally exploded by a lightning strike. I had a feeling that, in times long ago, many a Blackfoot woman searched for firewood after a similar violent storm. Perhaps a gift from the ‘Spirits’?”
Spring Squabble
Edition 35 19″H X 37″W X 23″D $9,500
“My husband, Loren, and I have spent many years planting coverage, caring for the water and designing natural habitat for the birds and animals with which we share our ranch. We continue to be immensely rewarded for our modest endeavor by the peeks into the lives of our ‘family’ such as these pheasants.
During the mating season, I have seen the roosters squabbling noisily while the hens seem not to be impressed with their spring finery or their show of pride. But, thanks to this territorial bickering, I had great fun this past winter sculpting these ringnecks and now sharing this scene with you.”
Straight-Up Bonnet
Edition 50 12″H X 4.5″W X 5.5″D $2,000
“This eagle feather headdress is unique to the Blackfeet Tribe which resides near my home in northwest Montana. It was a wonderful resource for sculpting this feather study in which the portrait itself becomes incidental. The Straight-Up Bonnet was a religious and war item worn only by very important tribal members and great warriors. It could be transferred only through ceremonial ritual and the exchange of many horses and other valuables. It is now worn only at special religious functions.”
Stumpin’
Edition 50 9″H X 4″W X 3.5″D $950
“It would be unusual, as I ride my horse through the woods on our ranch, not to see owls perched on a stump using the height for visual advantage in search of tasty morsels. It seems birds and animals are less startled by the sound of the four beat pattern of a horse, and so ‘Yogo’ and I got a treat coming upon these great-horned owls before they took flight.”
Through the Pass
Edition 35 19″H X 40″W X 12″D $14,000 (Walnut Base)
$15,000 (Granite/Walnut Base)
“After a time of rest and sleep, a flock of Bighorn Sheep make their way through the mountainous ridges to graze upon a windswept meadow.”

Collision, chiseled upthrusting
Jagged spires ground by ice.
The tailings washed clean
A time after water talked.
Light is new deep gold
Reflections still low.
Light is high, white and hot.
Shadows thin, pressed against the shapes.
Light heavy, light falling
Profusion of darks
Push away the day.
Music of the canyon cools
Gathering force strikes, sharpens.
And, at the end of its breath
Recedes, a caress.
Come now, the mountain cardinal strolling
Through eroding pews.
Last light touching
Vestment hats of horns.

Tundra Swans
Edition 35 40″H X 50″W X 34″D Call for Price
(Base not included)
As written about Tundra Swans: Not content to model the magnificent tundra swan floating placidly or with its wings tucked in, Sherry Sander worked to incorporate the swans’ tremendously powerful wings into her final sculptural composition. She stated, “The extended neck of the male swan was critical in achieving a visual balance between the actual volume of the birds and the expanse of their wings. I wanted the swans to appear graceful as well as regal”.

Turkeys
Edition 35 14″H X 15″W X 8″D $3,000
“The Turkey isn’t native to Montana, however, since its introduction, the Merriam Turkey has done well in its new environment due to stocking and careful management. These birds spent the winter at our ranch roosting and feeding on purposely left-over grain.”

Up Spring Creek Canyon
Edition 35 28″H X 28″W X 12″D $7,200
“Our family has a summer cabin in Central Montana where the ice cold creeks give up firm little ‘brookies’ if you have the right fly. These sweet fresh pan fries need only corn on the cob to be called gourmet. This delightful meal was anticipated while rocking on our front porch sipping a Crown Royal and talking about the fishing and the bear we saw deep in the high mountain berries “Up Spring Creek Canyon”.
